Why Komatsu trumped Cat at their own game

One could only imagine Cat's surprise at this year's MINExpo when Komatsu commissioned their 'Innovative Autonomous Haulage Vehicle'.

The first of its kind, this four-wheel drive cabless truck distributes equal load to the four wheels when the vehicle is loaded and unloaded, providing forward and reverse travel and eliminating the need for K-turns at loading and unloading sites.

Now don't get us wrong, Cat was no slouch, launching their 291 tonne capacity 794 AC truck, 18M Grader and for real impact placing a 994K Wheel Loader in the middle of their display (a real whopper let me tell you, when viewed inside a convention haul, sorry hall...)
